Nashville is preparing for an evening of music, remembrance, and generosity in honor of Dolly Parton. On Wednesday, October 21, the Country Music Association (CMA) is set to bring artists together to celebrate the singer-songwriter’s life and the songs that have made her one of country music’s most influential figures.
The event is also intended to support a cause close to Parton’s heart: her Imagination Library, which helps provide books to children. In that way, the tribute aims to connect a celebration of music with a lasting investment in early literacy.
The scheduled performers represent a wide range of country and Americana styles. Ashley McBryde, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Kelsea Ballerini, Zac Brown, Lady A, and Lukas Nelson are among the artists expected to take the stage. Kristin Chenoweth is also set to perform.
A lineup spanning generations and musical approaches offers an opportunity to hear Parton’s work interpreted in fresh ways. Her catalog includes story-driven songs, heartfelt ballads, and lively anthems—material that has resonated with both country audiences and listeners beyond the genre.
Parton’s significance extends beyond her remarkable career as a performer. Known for her songwriting, distinctive voice, and warm stage presence, she has built a body of work that tells vivid stories about love, family, ambition, hardship, and hope.
Her songs often make complex emotions feel accessible. That clarity, along with her unmistakable musical identity, has helped her work travel across genres and generations. A tribute featuring performers with varied styles can highlight the range and adaptability of her songwriting while introducing familiar songs to new audiences.
The event’s charitable focus is the Imagination Library, a program that promotes children’s access to books. Early exposure to reading can help children develop language skills, curiosity, and a positive relationship with learning. Programs that place books directly in children’s hands can also make reading materials more accessible to families.
By directing funds raised through the tribute to the Imagination Library, organizers are pairing celebration with practical support. The program reflects a simple but powerful idea: a book can open up new worlds, and regular access to books can help make reading part of a child’s everyday life.
According to the event details provided, the tribute will air at 8:00 p.m. Central Time on ABC and Disney+ on Wednesday, October 21. Viewers should check official CMA, ABC, and Disney+ listings for confirmation, including any updates to the schedule or streaming availability.
Tributes like this bring together music, shared memories, and community. For fans, the evening offers a chance to hear celebrated artists honor a songwriter whose work has touched countless listeners. For families and children who benefit from the Imagination Library, the event may also help support access to books and the opportunities they can create.
The CMA’s planned Nashville tribute brings together a notable group of performers and a charitable cause rooted in the power of reading. By celebrating Dolly Parton’s music while supporting the Imagination Library, the event aims to make the evening meaningful both onstage and beyond it. Before publishing or sharing the announcement, readers should verify the event details and any claims about Parton’s status through reliable, official sources.
